Flighted Brackets

Some larger age divisions will have consolation games after pool play. Please be sure to check your age groups bracket layout prior to the start of your pool play games to plan accordingly.

Run Rule (All Age Divisions)

10 after 3

8 after 4

Note: Under no circumstances will a game be extended in an effort to inflate runs score/differential for seeding. We encourage great sportsmanship throughout each event.

Pitching Rules

Ages 9u -12u

Pitchers are allowed a max of 18 recorded outs for the duration of the event.

Ages 13u & Up

Pitchers are allowed a max of 21 recorded outs for the duration of the event.

Additional Rules - All Age Groups

If a pitcher records more than 9 outs in pool play, he/she is not allowed to throw in bracket play. The only exception to this rule is if a pitcher records the 9th and 10th out simultaneously due to a double play.

A pitcher can use his/her entire out count in pool play. He/She would be considered washed for the rest of the event if they exceed the pool play limit.

Coaches be mindful that while pitching regulations by out/inning are regulated in this event, pitch counts are highly encouraged. For guidance with pitch counts please refer to the USA Baseball Pitch Smart chart for your age group.

We encourage sportsmanship and opposing coaches to bring this to the umpires attention before it becomes a protest situation.  If a team does break the pitching threshold and a protest is properly completed, the infracting team will lose the game by a 0-7 score. The protest must be made before the final out of the game is made.

After every game, both teams are required to sign off on a pitching sheet which should have all pitchers names, jersey number, recorded outs per pitcher as well as the final score. The home team is responsible for turning the pitching sheets into the concession stand immediately following their game.

Mound Visits

2nd mound visit per pitcher, in same inning results in pitching change.

3rd mound visit per pitcher in the same game results in a coach required to sub pitcher.

Updated pitching totals will be posted on our website Sunday morning with all pool play pitchers recorded totals.

Batting Order

Teams can bat however many they choose. The minimum batting order is 9 players and every spot not filled results in an automatic out. An automatic out is NOT recorded if a team has no legal subs and a player is removed due to injury. The lineup will simply condense and the injured player cannot participate in any form for the duration of that particular game.

In the event a player is ejected and no legal subs are available, the lineup does NOT condense and an automatic out would fill that void in the batting lineup.

Defensive Substitutions

Open substitution on defense regardless of how many players are in the batting lineup. You do NOT have to report subs on defense, only the batting order changes.

Pinch Runners

There are NO courtesy runners in all age groups. Coaches, be prepared to help keep the game on a good pace by warming up pitchers between innings. You may however use a legal sub to pinch run if you wish.

Bats

All bats must have a USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp or USA baseball stamp. Any bat on the USSSA band list is not eligible to use. Shave/Altered bats are not allowed in any of our events.

14u/JV Division must use BBCOR bats or wood.

Game Baseballs

We supply the first 2 game baseballs per game. After those two, it is the teams responsibility to supply the remaining baseballs. Please leave all baseballs we supply on the field of play when the game concludes. If a player hits a home run, the batting team must throw in another ball as a replacement.

Equipment

12u & Under:  Molded cleats or turfs only.

13u & Above: Metal spikes are allowed.

Players are required to be properly equipped for safety by their team.

Avoid Contact Rule

A player must not intentionally contact anyone at any time. This is umpires discretion and not a challenge/protest play.

Protests

Judgement calls are not an infraction eligible for protest.  To properly protest, seek the site field director and pay a refundable $100 protest fee. If the protest is upheld, you will receive this deposit back fully.

Ejections

Coach(s) ejected from a game must remove themselves from not only the playing field but the entire facility, including the parking lot for the duration of that particular day. Ejected coach can continue to coach the remaining day of the event.

Player(s) ejected from a game are not eligible to play in any remaining games for the duration of the event.

Fan(s) ejected from a game must remove themselves from not only the playing field but the entire facility for the duration of that particular day.

In the event a fan or coach is ejected a 2nd time during the event, meaning multiple days in the same event, he/she will be forbidden from playing in any future events and asked to remove themselves from the facilities for the remainder of the event.

Additional Rules

Skunk in the Outfield: This play is illegal. The ball will be deemed dead and an automatic out of the runner on base will be enforced.

3rd to 1st Pickoff:  Pitchers that do not step off and attempt to pick to third base, MUST throw the baseball in the vicinity of the bag. You CANNOT fake a throw to 3rd and follow a pick to first. This would be considered a dead ball balk.

Any rule not specifically mentioned will convert to the USSSA Baseball Virginia rulebook.

Coach Pitch Specific Rules

No leading . If a player leaves early (before the ball reaches the plate or is batted), the first infraction is aw warning and the player goes back. The second infraction results in an out.

If a player leaves early and the batter hits the ball, the max positive result of the play will be one base max. Example: If a hitter hits a triple, the end result will be a single with the runner at first base only being rewarded second base.

Max 5 pitches. If the 5th pitch and beyond results in a four ball, the batter will receive an additional pitch.

Max 5 runs per inning. The final inning will be unlimited runs. The umpire can use his/her discretion to determine when the last inning will be based on time.

A heart guard is encouraged to be worn by pitchers but not mandatory.

Music/Walk Up Songs

Please be courteous of all guests at the ballpark and play music suitable for all ages.

If both teams cannot come to an agreement of when to play music between innings, the rule will be the team up to bat has the music for that half inning.

Please be mindful that most fields are in pods of four and music should be played at an acceptable level, not to interfere with neighboring games.

Animals

Please leave your pets at home. Leashed service animals are the only exception to the rule.

Outside Food & Beverage

We try to keep our events as low cost as possible, while providing extra things for the players (IE: mvp tokens, rings, free gear for derby winners). In doing these additional things for the players, we ask that no outside food be brought into our various sites. Concession stands will be open from 8 am until 8 pm each day. We appreciate the support.

No Alocohol

Please refrain from bringing alcohol onto all fields/complex/sites.
